Greetings from San Antonio, Texas! Pictured here is a view from my hotel balcony overlooking San Antonio’s famous Riverwalk. The boat taxi is pulling up to gather tourists. It’s 65 degrees outside. I just experienced a 95 degree swing in temperature as it’s -30 windchill in Green Bay!
I’m here for a week helping a company set expectations. Isn’t it interesting that great communication boils down to one thing – setting the right expectations! It kind of works like this, if I were driving down the street and there were no speed limit signs, how would I know how fast to drive?
A cop can’t pull you over when the signs are not clearly posted. Setting expectations is like the speed limit signs in your life. Great communication can only be attained when the employee understand the expectations of their co-workers and leaders, and when departments know the expectations of the various departments, and the departments know the expectations of the company and the company knows the expectations of the customer.
I hope you can join us January 30th for our 3rd Annual Servant Leadership Summit. Here you will set your Game Plan for communicating clear expectations for 2015!
